If I were to exploit the single lifestyle, and manipulate people to make me money, I'd:
1 - Promote nothing but "beautiful, sexually attractive" rich people in advertisements and art, complete with subliminal or blatant sexual innuendo to psychologically steer people to always want more, and never be satisfied with what they have
2 - Encourage people to make more frivolous purchases to keep up with what's hip, and stay in fashion.
3 - Attempt to institutionalize it, in order to get intellectuals talking about it, but in a way that avoids or downplays all thinking to the contrary, because you could potentially lose money if people adopted a different lifestyle.
4 - Continue to build expensive housing to serve this population (driving housing costs up)
From there on, the people will do the rest, and create their own hierarchies in the form of a never-ending competition. From that point on, I'd just kick back, watch people fight to get to the "top" and cha-ching cha-ching cha-ching.
